What a blessing for American Honda, just a few weeks after Canard inked a 2 year deal Honda gets a win!
This weekend was the start of the home stretch for the 2014 mx outdoor season; at one the most famous tracks of the sport, Unadilla MX. The weather and track conditions were perfect for what would shape up to be a great race for the FLY Racing team. Team Honda Muscle Milk rider Trey Canard started the day off for FLY Racing by setting the fastest qualifying time of the day during timed practice and winning his second Oakley bomb award.
In moto one long-time FLY Racing athlete, and BTO Sports/KTM/WPS rider, Andrew Short put himself up front early with a great start and rode his way to a 5th place finish. Trey Canard finished just ahead of Short after suffering a poor start and working his way through the pack to finish in 4th place.
In moto two of the 450 class, it was Trey Canard’s time to shine as he capitalized on a top five start to take the lead and hold off the charges of first Eli Tomac then Ryan Dungey to take the moto win! This was Trey’s first outdoor motocross 450 moto win and surely gives him a lot of momentum to finish out the final two rounds. With his win in moto two, Canard grabbed second place overall on the day. What a ride Trey Canard!
